The exclusivity & uniqueness of Soma bay is truly momentous. You will feel it , whether by playing a round of golf  on the 18-hole championship golf course designed by “Gary Player”. By pampering yourself in the region’s largest and most comprehensive facility for Thalasso therapy.  By enjoying  your favorite water sports, be it windsurfing, sailing, snorkeling or scuba diving. Or by simply dwelling in the sensation of  peace and tranquility.

Heavenly Dive:
When it comes to diving, Soma Bay offers more for everyone - from beginner to advanced diver. House Reef - On its eastern coastline, Soma Bay's House Reef extends from Shaab Saiman at the North head and to the Southern tip of Ras Abou Soma, or "Bay Point". This several kilometer long house reef is teeming with a wide assortment of marine life. Few meters from the tip of the Peninsula is one of the jewels of Soma Bay: there are actually seven pillars of coral rising from the sandy bottom. Anthias and basslets cover soft Corals and the occasional napoleon, puffer fish, dozens of lionfish and a large potato cod can be seen there. This is a beautiful dive, yet relatively shallow at 20 meters.

Coral Reefs - Other famous dive spots in the area are only a short boat trip away. Of those, Panorama Reef and Abou Kafan are particularly impressive. Panorama Reef is a huge coral formation - its walls dropping to over 100 meters with numerous grottos and overhangs, gorgonians and soft corals. Marine life is abundant with schools of surgeon fish, barracuda, unicorn fish, whitetips, grey reefs, eagle rays and turtles.

Thalasso & Wellness Center:
For centuries past, the waters, the sand and the climate of Soma Bay were known for their beauty, their rich mineral content, their temperance and their natural healing power. Travelers used to come from afar to admire and enjoy nature's gifts. Today, these benefits can be experienced in a contemporary and elegant setting, with the  Les Thermes Marins des Cascades.

Established and operated in cooperation with Les Thermes Marins de Saint Malo, one of France's pioneers in this field, Les Thermes Marins des Cascades offers a wide range of thalasso-therapy treatments that can be tailored into individual programs extending over four or more days, or they can be experienced as individual "a la carte" treatments over a shorter stay.

Historical Hunt:
Soma Bay is an excellent base from which to discover Egypt's ancient treasures. Luxor and the Nile Valley are only three hours away by car from Soma Bay. Visit Egypt's fabulous ancient sites - the Valley of the Kings and Queens, the Karnak and LuxorTemples. Leaving the Resort for day trips to do the historical excursions are easy, planning a trip to Luxor, which is only 240 km away can be arranged by the hotel at the recreation desk.

The Cascades:
The Gary Player designed course is the first in many ways in Egypt. Not only is it the first golf course open for play on the Western Red Sea coast, it is the first Championship Course in the Middle East designed by one of the "Big Three" (Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer). The 18 hole, par 72 course offers memorable views of the lush green fairways that contrast dramatically with the rugged desert and the clear blue sea waters.

At the inaugural tournament, Gary Player described the course as "the next Pebble Beach". In his book "Gary Player's Top Golf Courses of the World", his personal selection of 55 of the most memorable golf courses around the globe, The Cascades Championship Course was referred to as "the Red Sea Treasure". The Cascades was recently ranked among the Top 20 golf courses of the world by the readers of "Golf Journal".

Transportation:
While at Soma Bay you can have easy access to its various venues—all of which have been linked through an extensive network of landscaped ring roads and promenades. If you think about going to Hurghada (45 km) or Safaga(17 km) , you can find the shuttle bus trips arranged by the hotel which can also prepare a trip to Luxor, which is only 240 km away. To make guests feel at total ease, hotels also provide this convenient service of car rental.

Weather:
Soma Bay enjoys year-round sunshine. Winters are temperate, with daytime temperatures averaging in the low to mid 20 °C. Summer temperatures average in the low 30 °C. Rainfall is very rare at Soma Bay. Every few years, however, it does indeed rain—even fairly hard at times, but for relatively brief periods.

In Summer, a dry breeze keeps the climate comfortable and temperatures moderate. Dry desert wind keeps humidity levels low. Soma Bay is blessed with an unbeatable combination of low humidity and maximum mean temperatures in the mid 30 °C. As a result, Soma Bay is comfortable year-round, even in Summer; more so than most Mediterranean destinations. Because it is located on the Western side of the Red Sea, summers at Soma Bay are also far more comfortable than at many other resort destinations on the Red Sea such as Sharm El-Sheikh, Taba or Nuweiba.
